Precalc collects no data.

This page explains, in plain terms, what Precalc does and does not do with information. It is intentionally short, because there is intentionally little to describe.

Summary in one paragraph

Precalc is a self-paced precalculus education app that runs entirely on your device. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. It does not require an account. It does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. It does not send your study progress, your position in a problem, your preferences, or any other data to any server. Nothing you do inside Precalc leaves your device.

If you uninstall the app, all of the local data described below is permanently deleted.

01

What Precalc collects

Nothing. Precalc collects no data and transmits no data. There is no server to send anything to. Specifically, Precalc does not collect any of the following:

Precalc ships with no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no library of any kind that exfiltrates data. There is no data collection to disclose because there is no data collection.

02

What Precalc stores locally

Precalc saves a small amount of information on your device so the app can pick up where you left off. All of it stays in the app's own local storage. None of it is ever transmitted off your device.

This information lives in the app's local storage area on your device. It is not synchronized to any server, backed up to any cloud, or shared with any third party. Clearing the app's data through Android's Settings menu removes all of it immediately. Uninstalling the app removes all of it permanently.

03

Voice readout (text-to-speech)

Precalc includes an accessibility feature that can read chapter sections, worked-example steps, and practice problems aloud. This feature uses the speech synthesis system built into your Android device. Your text is not sent to any server by Precalc. The voice that speaks is whichever speech engine your device is already configured to use, at the rate you choose inside Precalc.

Some Android devices route on-device speech synthesis through Google's text-to-speech engine. If that engine is set as your device default, your Android operating system, not Precalc, controls how that text is processed. Precalc does not transmit text directly. Your relationship with the device speech engine is governed by that engine's own privacy terms, not by this policy.

04

Permissions

Precalc requests no special permissions beyond what is required to install and run an ordinary Android application. The only storage it uses is the standard Android app storage allotted to every app for saving its own local data, which is where the chapter progress, problem position, and speech rate preference described above are kept.

Precalc does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage outside its own sandbox, or any other sensitive subsystem.

05

Children

Precalc is rated for ages 13 and up. Precalculus is generally a high school subject, and the app is built for high school students, college students, and adult learners studying the material. It is not directed at children under 13.

Because Precalc collects no information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has somehow provided information to Precalc despite the app collecting no information, please contact us using the email below and we will respond.

06

Changes to this policy

If Precalc's privacy behavior ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will also be reflected on the app's Google Play listing.
